Music through unconventional means. (I’m on a Shlomo kick at the moment).

To those that know me,
If I have earned any sort of music credibility with you then trust me when I say, “Frank Sinatra’s ‘In the Wee Small Hours’ is a must have for your music collection.”
It is by far my favorite Sinatra album and easily one of my favorite albums of all time. You can (and should) read about the history of this album from the Wikipedia link at the end of this post. I am not going rewrite what has already been written but I will, however, add this…
For those that listen to music based on seasons, emotion, circumstances etc., this is a great album for this time of year when the mornings are darker and colder, the days are shorter and we want to move a little slower and breathe a little deeper. Just be warned, if you are grieving lost love and feeling lonely then this album might do you in.
no words…
A friend just shared this with me. I love it.
Two of my favorites…
The trip thus far.
Track name: Roll Away Your Stone

Album: Sigh No More

Roll away your stone, I’ll roll away mine
Together we can see what we will find
Don’t leave me alone at this time,
For I’m afraid of what I will discover inside
Cause you told me that I would find a hole,
Within the fragile substance of my soul
And I have filled this void with things unreal,
And all the while my character it steals
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see
It seems that all my bridges have been burned,
But you say that’s exactly how this grace thing works
It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive with the restart
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I’ve seen
Stars hide your fires,
These here are my desires
And I won’t give them up to you this time around
And so, I’ll be found with my stake stuck in this ground
Marking the territory of this newly impassioned soul
But you, you’ve gone too far this time
You have neither reason nor rhyme
With which to take this soul that is so rightfully mine
